Soft Apricot Flowers with a Rose-Like Shape

Rosita® Apricot F1 is a beautiful choice for growers seeking apricot lisianthus with a softly rounded flower shape. Its pink-apricot colouring combines easily with cream, white, blush pink, lavender and fresh green foliage.

The flowers are smaller and less heavily ruffled than many large-flowered lisianthus types. They add contrast to bouquets filled with fuller blooms while maintaining a soft, romantic appearance.

Branched stems can carry numerous flowers and buds, creating an attractive display as the blooms gradually open.

The Rosita® Series

Rosita® is an established series of double-flowered lisianthus. Its rose-like blooms, sturdy stems and thick petals make it well suited to cut flower production.

Firm petals help reduce damage during handling and Botrytis-related problems during transport. Good airflow and careful moisture management remain essential during cultivation.

The series includes varieties in Groups 1, 2, 3 and 4. Rosita® Apricot F1 belongs to Group 2. Plan sowing and planting dates to suit your growing conditions and intended harvest.

Sowing & Seedling Care

Lisianthus grows slowly during its early stages, so allow several months for propagation and crop development.

Sow on the surface of a fine, well-drained seed-starting substrate. Do not cover with soil. If supplied as pelleted seed, carefully moisten the pellets so their coating can dissolve.

Maintain even moisture without allowing the substrate to become waterlogged or dry out. Provide sufficient light during germination and after emergence. Winter sowings benefit from supplementary grow lights.

Transplant seedlings before their roots become crowded. Handle the root ball gently and maintain the original planting depth.

Growing Conditions & Care

Choose a sunny, sheltered position with fertile, well-drained soil. Greenhouse cultivation helps manage temperature, watering and humidity.

Space plants approximately 15 cm apart and use a support net to encourage straight stems.

Keep moisture consistent, avoiding prolonged wet conditions. Water at the base of the plants and provide good ventilation. Use clean propagation trays and a healthy, well-drained growing medium.

How Long from Seed to Flower?

Rosita® Apricot F1 requires a long growing period, including a slow seedling stage. Flowering time depends on temperature, light levels, sowing date and transplant development.

Allow sufficient time for propagation and provide adequate lighting for early indoor sowings.

Harvesting & Vase Care

Cut stems when several flowers have opened. Remove leaves below the waterline and place the stems promptly into clean water.

Refresh the water regularly and use cut flower food if available. Careful harvesting and handling help preserve the excellent vase life of Rosita® flowers.
